Story:

Kadamba is about the strained relationship between a father and a son. Madhukeshwara Kadamba is an honest and an upright police officer. When he dons the uniform, family and sentiments play no part in his life. Protecting law is his topmost goal. He has a son who has seen his father's strictness and discipline. He steals in the home and thinking about the consequences he has to face, runs away. Once he is on the streets, he is charged for attempt to murder and is sent to remand home for 14 years. In these 14 years he begins to hate his father.
The mother yamini(Bhanupriya) is caught between the ego issues of the father and son. Meanwhile Kadamba loses his wife. His son doesnt set the fire on his mother's pyre. How kadamba wins back his son's confidence and destroy his opponents forms the rest of the movie.

Highlights:

Though the movie is packed with high emotion, the way its been picturised by director Suresh Krishna is awesome. He has been successfull in moving the story at a fast pace. Also, the frame technique used by him is worth a mention. He has understood the limitations of Vishnu and has utilized him to the fullest extent. He has given a new life for Vishnu and this movie is bound to do wonders for Vishnu's confidence as well as the collections. Couple of tunes by Deva are worth listening again and again. Kadamba Nintharu Habba, Kadamba Kootaru Habba" and Bala Sangathiye are the best songs in the movie. Dialouges by M.S.Ramesh are simply superb. These five fingers represent five crore kannadigas, Any guy who is hit with this hand will never get up !! is one of the famous dialogues of the movie. Despite some unconvincing moments in the plot, Kadamba keeps viewers involved all the way till climax. May the duo of Vishnu and Suresh Krishna come out with more movies.

Performances:

This film completely belongs to Vishnuvardhan, Naveen Krishna (Son of Srinivas Murthy) and Bhanupriya. Kadamba's role has been tailor made for Vishnuvardhan. After Yejamana this is another movie where he gets to display his emoting capacity at the fullest extent. His style of emoting through his actions rather than words is exemplary. He makes you cry in couple of scenes. Bhaunupriya has supported him equally. The other highlight is the acting of debutant Naveen Krishna. He has supported Vishnu very well.

Drawbacks:

Talking about similarities, Kadamba has shades of Tangapadakam (Tamil) and Nanobba Kalla attached with it. But director Suresh Krishna has handled the script very well and modified it to keep the story in grip. A kid being sent to remand home for 14years for attempt of murder sounds baffling. All said and done, the movie still emerges a winner. As the producer Surappa Babu expected it would turn out to be another super hit for him as well as Vishnu.
