Son Of Karnataka July 9th of 2003 will be one of the most memorable days of Vishnu's life. It is on this day that a grand function was organized at the Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore the garden city of India to facilitate Vishnu for receiving the filmfare life time award for 2003. This function was organized by the Cine PRO association to share Vishnu's achievement with the industry and fans.

Vishnuvardhan is the only kannada actor to receive the filmfare award 5 times. Vishnu was completely dressed in white for the occasion. People could see the intensity in his eyes which was hard hitting. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Smt.Nagalakshmi Puttanna Kanagal, Smt. Pattamal Veeraswamy, Jayanthi and Bharathi Vishnuvardhan. This was followed by the welcome speech from Ramesh. The shower of praises on Vishnu made the fans to whistle and jump in joy. Speaking on the occasion Vishnu said "each award I receive makes me feel that much smaller as I start thinking whether I am really worthy it? ", The awards, love and affection shown by the fans is enough for the next 7 generations to come. I entered the cine industry after my Bsc, the people of karnataka and my fans have brought me so far. I still feel that I have not been fully utilized and there is a lot more to achieve.

Vishnu an actor, a thespian who never gives any details on the social work he does, for the first time said that he was involved in the construction of Vikram Hospital in mysore. He is also planning to start an education trust to serve the needy. The demand for a song from the fans made him to sing a few lines of the "Kalladare Naanu" number from his super hit movie "Simhadriya Simha". Senior Journalist P.G.Srinivas Murthy, Ramesh, Upendra, Prema, Rebel Star Ambrish also spoke on the occasion. Mr.Nagendra president of the PRO's association, PRO D.V. Sudhindra, Lingaraj, Babu, Basavaraj, Venkatesh,Vijay Kumar, Harish, Ramakrishna made sure that the function went smoothly without any major hiccups.
