Soundarya's last movie

Producer : Dwarkish
Story, Screenplay & Direction : P.Vasu
Music: Gurukiran
Cast : Vishnuvardhan, Ramesh, Dwarkish, Soundarya, Prema, Avinash & others .

Story:

Ramesh Arvind (Ramesh) is an engineer by profession. He buys a palace much against the wishes of his family and friends as the palace is believed to have some history and also a ghost of a dancer named Nagavalli is locked in a room.
Curious to find out what exactly is inside the room, Ganga (Soundarya) and Soumya(Prema) unlocks the room. After this people start hearing wierd noises (Sounds of anklets clinging which is always associated with a ghost and in this case the added feature is the ghost is also a dancer).
Inmates of the palace are attacked and Ramesh himself misses death by one of the attacks. This marks the entry of Vishnuvardhan (Vijay) Who is a psychiatrist and also a friend of Ramesh in to the picture. What unfolds later is a series of comic and horrifying scenes to unravel the truth and mystery surrounding the ghost. The suspense is quiet gripping and leaves audience scratching their heads.

Highlights:

Aptamitra though is a remake of malayalam movie "Mani Chitratal" , P.Vasu has put in some nice effort to stich the story based on the actors image in the kannada scene. In the original, the role of Vishnu played by Mohan Lal is for a breif peirod but here Vasu extends it for quiet a while. Its a very nice family entertainer with lots of suspense, comedy and horror. The hit pair of kannada cinema "Kalla Kulla" are back with a bang.Vishnu and Dwarkish together have some comic scenes that they excecute to perfection.

Performances:

Vishnuvardhan is at his natural ease while doning the role of a psychiatrist. The french beard and the costume selection gives him a brand new look. He looks stunning in some of the scary and comic scenes.
This movie belongs to Soundarya entirely. She stamps her authority all over. P.Vasu has done an excellent job of capturing her fears and inadequacies through the harrowing journey. The sad part is that she is no more to see her excellent performance. Ramesh is cool and composite through out.
Music score by Gurukiran is another highlight in the movie and he proves a point that how a good background score could add to the success of a movie. The movie has couple of hummbale tunes especailly the song with a classical tinge to it.
Direction by P.Vasu is excellent. He has succeeded in capturing the emotioins and expressions of all the actors with accuracy.
