Sahasa Simha Vishnuvardhan, The superstar and the stylish actor of kannada cinema is officially Dr.Vishnuvardhan from January 6th of 2006. Vishnuvardhan was honored with doctorate at the 41st annual convocation at the central college campus in Bangalore on friday. Vishnuvardhan wearing the white convocation costume received the honorary doctorate from Karnataka Governor T.N.Chaturvedi at 4 PM. Speaking on the occasion Dr.Vishnu remembered his guru Puttana Kanagal and educationist Dr.H.Narasimhaiah of National College Basvanagudi. Dr.Vishnu again opined that he has received the award because of his yoga and not yogyathe. He also reiterated the fact that his responsibility towards mankind and the state / country has doubled. Prof. M.S.Thimmappa the VC of bangalore university, education minister D.Manjunath, guest V.Shantha and Bharathi Vishnuvardhan were also present on the occasion. Karnataka Governor, T N Chaturvedi presented 195 gold medals and 65 cash prizes to meritorious during the convocation. A total of 117 PhD degrees were also presented by the Governor .As many as 22,614 candidates had applied to receive their degrees from BU this year.
